Jela Aćimović is the Head of the Health Section at UNICEF Bosnia and Herzegovina, which encompasses areas such as health, including mental health, early growth and development, and nutrition.

She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree, is a specialist in epidemiology, and has a Master’s degree in medical sciences in the field of epidemiology, with over 15 years of experience in public health.

Her most significant areas of expertise within public health advancement include immunization, where she has over ten years of experience in organizing and managing immunization programs, as well as epidemiological surveillance, disease prevention and control, and preparedness and response to public health crises.

Doc. Dr. Nataša Ljubomirović, MD

Dr. Nataša Ljubomirović (née Ceribašić) was born in Belgrade on May 13, 1965. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sarajevo in 1989, earning the title of Doctor of Medicine (valedictorian, with an average grade of 9.6), and also graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Sarajevo (average grade 9.8). She passed the specialist exam in psychiatry in 1999 with excellent marks.

She defended her master’s thesis titled “Psychological Consequences of War Stress in Adolescents” – in the field of social psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade in 1997. She was awarded a UK scholarship and completed education in child psychiatry at NHS Northampton, United Kingdom, focusing on group work with children and youth under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Kedar Dwivedi in 2001. From 2003 to 2008, she served as the project coordinator in mental health, working with vulnerable children, youth, and their families within the Doctors Without Borders Belgium (MSF Belgium) project. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled “Application of Social Group Work in the Local Community” on December 29, 2014, at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade. She was appointed as an assistant professor at the Academy for Human Development in 2017.

She obtained the academic title of research associate at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade on September 26, 2018.

From 2015 to 2023, she was an educator for healthcare professionals in the Mental Health Reform Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 2020, she became a mentor for doctors specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.

She has been on the list of certified forensic experts in child and adolescent psychiatry since 2021, at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia.

Since 2021, she has been the head of the Child and Youth Clinic at the Institute of Mental Health in Belgrade, and the head of the Clinical Department for Children and Youth at the Institute of Mental Health in Belgrade.

Dr. Ledia Lazeri

Dr Ledia Lazeri is the Regional Adviser for Mental Health at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. A native of Albania, she trained and worked as a psychiatrist in her home country, having contributed to education of medical students and later to the national reform of mental health policy and services.

Having joined WHO in 2000, Dr Lazeri expanded her scope of work larger in the Balkans region through the Mental Health Project of the Stability Pact in South-Eastern Europe and later in Türkiye where she led a large EU-funded WHO project on Improving Services for People with Disabilities. She held few assignments as WHO Representative to various European countries, where she led the WHO technical cooperation with the country. Dr Lazeri was the WHO Representative to Hungary during 2017-2021 and collaborated with a good number of Hungarian institutions under the umbrella of the Ministry of Human Capacities and beyond.

In her function as Regional Adviser for Mental Health since 2021, Dr Lazeri leads a team that brings together expertise in various areas: policy and services, rights and advocacy, communication and promotion in mental health, tasked, among others, with implementing the WHO European Framework for Action in Mental Health 2021-2025, supporting the pan-European Mental Health Coalition and contributing to the implementation of the EU Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health.

Dragana Bulić

Dragana Bulic holds over 25 years of programmatic and strategic leadership experience in humanitarian and development programs, developing and managing operations and teams in diverse and politically fragile post-conflict and transitional contexts.

With an educational background in the domains of sociology and psychology, Dragana’s primary focus has been in the areas of advocacy and strategic partnering, resource mobilization and management in the areas of child protection, refugee and IDP protection, landmine victim assistance, and disability rights.

This experience was gained through extensive service with the UN Refugee Agency in BiH and Afghanistan, the Landmine Survivors Network and Survivor Corps in BiH, Southern Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, and World Vision in BiH and the Western Balkans. In these complex contexts, she deepened her expertise in working with different religious groups and faith leaders, vulnerable groups of women, children, and youth.

Dragana is a devoted mother of a 15-year-old daughter, her biggest motivation and reality check in all she does and strives for.

Sandra Kukić

SANDRA KUKIC was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1971. In 1996, she graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a degree in psychology, and further in systemic family approach within certified programme of European Association for Family Therapy.

Ms. Kukic has over 20 years of experience of professional work in psychosocial programs focused on child, family and community development. In course of her career and professional development has been working in a number of roles that instigated changes across board to provide best service to vulnerable groups, especially children and their families.

Ms. Kukic has extensive experience in topics related to mental health and psychosocial support, trauma healing, child protection, child care and alternative care, prevention and crisis interventions. Professional assignments are focused on programming as well as human resources and organizational development. Ms. Kukic possess more than 10 years of international experience, supporting directly changes in child protection processes and systems in more than 20 countries.

In her professional roles, Ms. Kukic has managed global, regional and national programs focused on child protection, assessing quality of child protection system and coordinating and managing initiatives and programs aimed at improvements in the field. Currently working as a consultant to UNICEF BiH.

Fatima Mujezinović

My name is Fatima Mujezinović. I’m 20 years old and currently studying pedagogy at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo. Given my diverse interests, I am particularly focused on working with young people and children within a pedagogical-didactic framework and am actively involved in non-formal education in the fields of human rights, media and information literacy, as well as advocacy for youth policies. I am engaged as a presenter in the Youth Program on BH Radio 1, and I particularly emphasize my role as an active participant in the Digi:mon project, which, over the course of three years, aims to monitor and enhance the status of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the ultimate goal of creating a digital platform tailored to their needs. I believe that the key to success is allowing young people to have their voices heard and supporting their professional growth and development through quality education and the support of experts from various fields. Therefore, I strive to personally contribute to a society that should be encouraging, motivating, and supportive of every individual’s development into a self-actualized person.

My name is Adna Kepeš. I am 25 years old, and I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am a final-year student of Communication Studies at the Faculty of Political Science in Sarajevo. I am director of the Association “NAŠA DJECA” Zenica, where I work directly with children and youth through various activities and projects. I participated in the “Trauma-Oriented Peace Work in BiH” program, which is an educational program for representatives of youth organizations aimed at strengthening resources for working on trauma coping and building a trauma-sensitive society. I am interested in topics related to psychology and hope that psychology will be my choice for further education.
